Colombus Recruitment was established by Rachael Cunliffe and Neil Fidler who are REC Qualified and experienced construction recruitment professionals with recognized construction qualifications and over 5 years relevant industry experience. Our consultants possess a solid understanding of the industry thus providing candidates and clients alike with an all- round quality service.

The recruitment industry can at times be dominated by large organizations where customer satisfaction is at times sidelined in the pursuit of greater profit margins. Not so, at Colombus Recruitment.

Rachael Cunliffe

After starting her career on the trades and labour side of recruitment Rachael moved to Beresford Blake Thomas and initially managed a freelance engineering desk. During the time she was there she worked her way up to Section Manager having responsibility for Liverpool and the North West and proved her versatility by recruiting for the Private Practise, Consultancy, mainstream Construction and civil engineering sector of the industry.

Neil Fidler

Originally from an engineering background Neil moved into recruitment with Hays Montrose after completing a BSc (Hon's) Construction Management. After 2.5 years running a freelance engineering desk Neil moved to Beresford Blake Thomas in the capacity of a Senior Consultant responsible for both temporary and permanent recruitment across Yorkshire.
After 5 years with Beresford Blake Thomas with responsibility for the Northern Region of the group Neil felt that it was time to get back to basics and do what he enjoyed most - recruiting.

Ian Cockle

Ian has a wealth of civil engineering and building experience with employers including Costain and Balfour Beatty. He has worked at a Senior Engineers level on some of the regions most recognisable projects including The Trafford Centre, Whiston Hospital, Manchester Airport and civils projects including AMP3, The Liverpool Cruise Line facility and the M62. With his hands on experience and knowledge of the construction industry he helps ensure that the right individual is placed with the right business on a temporary or permanent basis.
